The area is located 40 km south of the Suez port and falls under the Suez Governorate. The advantage Ein Sokhna has to offer is proximity to Cairo, just 140 km east of the capital, or a little over an hour's drive away.

The larger Ein Sokhna resorts offer their own bazaars and malls, with a few independent stores operating in some.
